Pavilion, Pool, Outdoor Kitchen

Pavilion, Pool, Outdoor Kitchen | Earth, Turf, & Wood | Southeastern PennsylvaniaProject Cost Level $$$$

Project overview:

Oversized pool with water features and in-pool seating area, outdoor kitchen with seating area, pavilion with fireplace, hidden utility area, and planting/landscape plan.

What client wanted the space to accomplish:

The client desired an outdoor entertainment area that could accommodate large groups such as youth groups and non-profit organizations. To this end, a large pool area was desired.

Innovative ideas/concepts Earth Turf, & Wood brought to the table:

The new pool area was successfully integrated into an existing patio that was next to the house. A raised pavilion with a tall fireplace chimney was incorporated into the design. Care was taken to have the chimney design match the chimney on the house to provide visual integration. Unique pavement patterns were incorporated into the patio and pool surround areas. A substructure was installed for a  future pergola project.

Notable design/construction challenges:

The property’s pie shape created difficult setbacks and limitations to fit in all desired elements. The existing wall and patio were removed to allow better integration of elements. Construction and zoning challenges of building the pavilion directly onto the house were circumvented by creating a freestanding structure that was close enough to the house to still provide direct access and the desired protection from weather.
