But with his system, the green is built overtop the roots and though it’s actually the highest part of his yard, Dave says it still has a “built-in” look. It also doesn’t retain any water. When it rains, water goes through the turf and into panels in the ground. Dave says that his putting green is always the “driest spot” in the yard since it’s the first area to drain.
