Pavilion, Pool, Outdoor Kitchen, Complete Outdoor Living Environment | Earth, Turf, & Wood | Southeastern PennsylvaniaProject Cost Level $$$$+

Project overview:

Renovated pool, sun shelf in pool, spa, pavilion, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, water wall, pizza oven, patio, new house entrance, various walkways, cornhole/quoit area. Plantings around existing ponds, driveway, streetscape, utility area.

What client wanted the space to accomplish:

The client desired a larger outdoor entertainment area that would be a unique living space with lots of WOW factor. They also desired a creative and colorful landscape/planting plan.

Innovative ideas/concepts Earth, Turf, & Wood brought to the table:

  • Waterwall incorporated into retaining wall
  • Expansive kitchen area with significant storage and amenities
  • Cornhole/quoit area
  • Parking area integrated with driveway and front entrance walkway area
  • Created intimacy within an expansive area. All areas visually accessible no matter where someone stands or sits. Flow and design worked smoothly in a plan with many components

Notable design/construction challenges:

There were significant grade issues to deal with. A retaining wall was constructed to gain space for the pavilion. Utility runs for the design were extensive and a significant challenge.

The project expanded as it progressed, and great care was taken to ensure all elements integrated so additions did not look “added on”.

Extended winter conditions added weather challenges. The project was also on a tight time deadline.

The space was located in an area of the property that had access challenges. A separate side road was constructed for material and equipment access.
